General Purpose of Position
The Sr. Business Consultant of the Corporate Delivery department is part of a cross-departmental Team charged with implementing various Business and Technology driven initiatives. This includes assessing mid to large size potential business opportunities, leading portfolio management activities, and supporting program management of enterprise wide change initiatives. Additionally, the position will work with various Customers (e.g., Business or Technology) to identify requirements, understanding changes to business processes & procedures, and help with the implementation and delivery of the initiatives.
Additionally, this consultant will have a primary responsibility to support the prototype activities around data innovation. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for collaborating across business and technology teams to understand the various data domains to support our strategic initiatives. Strategic analysis may include the measurement of baseline or quantitative value on impact; economic and environment landscape that impact our business and industry; or helping uncover dependencies on cross functional areas and data availability. The ideal candidate should possess curiosity, willing to learn emerging technology-based solutions, and passion for ‘all things data’.
Partners with senior leadership across Southwest to lead various activities required in the ongoing development and delivery of the Company's strategic initiatives. The position is dedicated to identifying solutions for complex problems and implementing various corporate initiatives.
Business Knowledge of assigned area:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math
At least 10 years of experience in data warehouse architecture, data modeling, ETL Mapping, data flows, data analysis using NoSQL concepts
Demonstrated delivery of results on past projects leveraging various analytics, data integration and management technologies involving both operational and analytical applications
Strong communication skills with consumers at various levels. Able to present complex and technical information clearly in ‘business language.’
Ability to gather data from various systems using database languages and/or programming languages (such as but not limited to)
o SQL & NoSQL
o Ab Initio
o Unix Shell Scripts
Demonstrated expertise in working with several databases (such as but not limited to)
o SQL server
Use critical thinking to identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets to solve problems, and develop recommendations based on findings
Ability to see big picture from various details and articulate the key differentiators to decision makers
Through collaboration with team members, develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
Understanding or exposure to modern data management concepts or approaches that enable enterprises adopt digital technologies, such as Events & Rules based solutions, stream analytics, etc.
