    Responsibilities

    WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

    • Plan, schedule and coordinate of Through, Overnight, Intermediate, Hangar Overnight and Heavy maintenance on the day of operations.
    • Coordinate with Flight operations on maintenance routing requirements.
    • Manage and balance the work load for Line Overnight and Intermediate Maintenance as required to meet company targets.
    • Forecast, plan and implement short and long term plans for hangar overnight maintenance including Long Weekend maintenance visits.
    • Coordinate with Maintenance Control, Maintenance Stations and Flight Dispatch during irregular operations to ensure successful completion of due maintenance.
    • Investigate, track and manage deferred maintenance, including but not limited to defects, maintenance tasks and Engineering orders.
    • Review and audit the Maintenance Planning Schedule reports to ensure all required maintenance is scheduled prior to the due date.
    • Perform the duties of the Maintenance Planner and / or the Maintenance Planning Specialist as directed by their leader.
    • Perform other duties in the field of Maintenance Planning as directed by their leader.

    May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

    EDUCATION:

    • Required - High School Degree.
    • Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance / Technology or equivalent.

    WORK EXPERIENCE: 

    • 7 years airline maintenance planning/scheduling experience. Or,
    • A&P License plus 5 years airline maintenance planning/scheduling experience. Or,
    • A&P License, 2 years aircraft maintenance experience and 3 years airline maintenance planning/scheduling experience.

    LICENSING/CERTIFICATION: 

    • A&P license preferred.  

    SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:  

    • Must be able to provide friendly and hospitable assistance to peers and coworkers.
    • Must be capable of managing multiple priorities and able to make decisions in a rapidly changing environment.Must possess project management skills.
    • Must be capable of utilizing computerized data collection / maintenance automation system.
    • Must be able to review and understand technical publications, such as engineering orders and aircraft manuals.
    • Must be familiar with SWA e-mail system and other MS Software, such as Word & Excel.
    • Must possess organizational, time management, and written / oral communications skills.

    Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

     

    Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team.

     

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be able to work weekends, shifts and holidays as required. 

    Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
