    The Regional Manager works with the Senior Manager and the other members of the Regional Planning & Performance Team to drive alignment within the Commercial Organization regarding the region-specific strategy and objectives outlined by the Commercial Leadership Team.



    • Keep all vested partners informed of market trends or changes
    • Drive cross-Commercial alignment and implementation of commercial priorities and City objectives
    • Provide ongoing support of implementation and performance progress
    • Identify and communicate clear drivers of portfolio/city level performance
    • Recommend and support in market engagement opportunities
    • Consume many commercial and financial inputs from internal and external data sources to analyze and develop well thought out conclusions
    • Assess integrated plans that balance multiple objectives while still maintaining the ability to drive alignment
    • Present executive level findings and conclusions to influence the overall Commercial plan
    • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
    • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.



    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.


    • Four year Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the areas of Business, Analysis, Finance, or related field. 


    • 8 years of experience required in either airline performance analysis -OR- strategy planning (example areas for experience are Revenue Management, Market Planning, Network Planning, Strategic Planning, Financial Planning & Analysis, etc.)
    • Experience also to include the following:
      • Experience translating Company/Commercial strategy and objectives into actionable steps that support the overall Company/Commercial plan required
      • Experience creating and delivering executive level presentations to Company/Commercial level Sr. Leadership required
      • Experience managing highly complicated quantitative analysis with an understanding of Corporate Finance and financial statements required
    • Strong understanding of economics and business practices preferred
    • Experience in the airline or transportation industry preferred
    • Experience in Southwest Airlines markets and operating strategies preferred
    • Proficiency in performing business forecasting preferred


    • Most activities conducted in typical office environment which requires light lifting to overhead files and shelves.

    • Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal direct supervision
    • Strong skills in formatting and presenting data and information
    • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information 


    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
    • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
