    Responsibilities

     

    The Senior Business Consultant, Innovation Discipline will leverage the Human Centered Design approach to foster a culture of innovation and accelerate transformational change. This role will be responsible for all aspects of Innovation project management and require integration of Operational capabilites, Employee needs and Customer needs. Develops and tests new ideas/products which are under consideration for implementation. Responsibilities include overseeing the entire life of each initiative, whick includes concept, design, test and learning plans.

     

    WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

    • Maintains close relationships with business and operational teams to stay connected on priorities and challenges.
    • Act as a strategic thought leader in terms of assessing business opportunities and aligning with future state capabilities.
    • Conduct high-level presentations to relay information to other and to gain support for the Team
    • Support and/or lead practice activities
    • Defines complex project plans including scope, budget and schedule, and executes tasks defined in the project plan to achieve project goals using Human Centered Design methodologies and practices. 
    • Continually assesses project needs and resources to complete on time and within budget.    
    • Partners with resource managers, Business Partners and vendors to assemble a project Team and provide ongoing motivation to drive to completion.
    • Establishes cross functional alliances within and outside the Department to drive results.
    • Proactively communicates with Stakeholders, Sponsors and Project Teams to maintain project alignment.
    • Builds partnerships to collaborate and uses influence without authority to gather Customer and business requirements and communicate effectively with all project Teams and support groups.
    • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
    • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
    • Must be at least 18 years age.
    • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act 1986.

    EDUCATION:

    • 4 yr college degree required
    • MBA Preferred 

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • ≥ 7 years related experience in Innovation, Research, Operations and/or Operational Performance, Customer Solutions required.
    • ≥ 2 years with Airline Ground Operations experience preferred.
    • Human Centered Design experience a plus

    PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    • Ability to perform work duties from desk/office work area for extended periods of time.

    • Must have ability to work on a small team and maintain fluidity across the team structure.
    • Must have ability to solve problems and improvise as needed during prototype construction.

    • Must be technically proficient with respect to Microsoft Office products.
    • Responsible for all assigned to the Team.
    • Able to accomplish results through review Team and providing feedback for minor modifications.
    • Acts as an advisor to Leaders to meet deadlines or resolve complex problems.
    • Must be comfortable in handling confidential information and reporting/communicating directly with senior management.
