    Responsibilities

    Team Overview:

     

    The Ground Ops Portfolio & Strategy Team works on initiatives for the department that align with our strategic vision. We work with the field to understand unique and system-wide gaps (inclusive of facility and technology constraints) to incorporate in our strategic planning.  Additionally, we partner with key stakeholders at HDQ to leverage investments and secure funding for the department.  As an intern on this Team, you will help create strategic plans, assess the pros and cons of investments and provide recommendations, and represent our Team in cross-departmental initiatives.

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    This intern position will work on projects and analysis for the Performance Analytics group in Ground Operations.

    Assist with the preparation and distribution of routine and ad hoc operational reports using available departmental tools.

    Post analysis and research of daily operational data

    Attend cross-functional meeting with other operational departments

    Some travel may be required.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

     

    Candidates must be currently enrolled in a fulltime Bachelor’s  or Master's Degree program with a Major/Minor in Business, Finance, Operations, Airline Management, Strategy or related degree program.

    Minimum junior level

    Must be a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) to be eligible.

    Maintained 3.00 or above cumulative GPA

     

    SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

     

    Must possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).

    Must have experience with v-lookup and pivot tables within excel.  

    Must have past internship experience within the last 12 months, preferably in one of the following industries: consulting, aviation, facilities, or construction.

    Must have experience in developing and delivering presentations, preferably in a professional environment.

    Knowledge and application of Six Sigma preferred

    Experience with cost benefit analysis in a professional environment preferred.

    Experience in developing and delivering presentations is required.

    Problem solving ability and strong written/verbal communications skill required.

    Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments.

    Ability to work well with others as part of a Team.

    Ability to work with minimum guidance and professional in their conduct.

    Ability to properly manage sensitive and confidential information.

    Must be willing to contribute during brainstorming sessions, and actively participate from concept to execution.

    Must have the ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information.

    TIME COMMITMENT:

    PAY:

     

    $15.00 per hour + flight privileges
