    Responsibilities

    GENERAL:

    The primary role of Supply Chain Management is to collaborate with Internal Stakeholders and Suppliers to identify cost savings opportunities, strategically sourcing high quality products and services, and develop the best strategies to allow for a best in class supply chain.

    The Fuel Infrastructure Management (FIM) Team is responsible for managing all services associated with airport fuel terminals and into-plane (aircraft) fueling.  This includes supplier performance management, participation in airline fuel committees/consortia, fuel construction projects, fueling equipment/asset management, contract management, fuel quality & compliance, and physical inventory audits. 

     

    The Fuel Infrastructure Intern will assist this department with a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

    • Support FIM Manager with ongoing fuel related tasks
    • Participate in strategic projects with fueling equipment
    • Process mapping standard operating procedures

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

     

    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

     

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

     

    To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a fulltime student at time of application (minimum of 12 credit hours)

     

    Sophomores or Juniors preferred. Please include your graduation date on your resume.

     

    Minimum of a 2.75 or above cumulative GPA

     

    Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

     

    Education:

     

    Progress towards degree in Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, Operational Analysis, Logistics, Industrial Management, Business Intelligence, or related degree.

     

    Skills:

     

    • Strong database management skills preferred (Excel, Access, or similar)
    • Advanced understanding of root cause, risk analysis, and/or trend analysis preferred
    • Experience with negotiating contracts/bids with vendors preferred
    • A Supply Chain related internship within the past 12 months preferred
    • Self-starter, critical thinker and innovator of ideas that could lower cost and increase value for SWA
    • Ability to read contract language and excel data sheets for critical analysis.
    • Aviation background and enthusiasm preferred
    • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines
    • Problem solving ability with strong written/verbal communications skills
    • Ability to work independently and willingness to function as part of a Team
