    A Strategy Consultant in Southwest Airline’s Corporate Strategy department is focused on supporting the Strategy team and business partners in the ongoing development and execution of the Company’s strategy.



    • Utilizes the Company’s strategic planning methodology to provide thought leadership in the development of functional strategies.
    • Analyze data, gathering insights and modeling various futures quantitatively.
    • Interacts with SMEs and functional Leaders in support of Southwest’s vision “To be the World’s Most Flown, Most Loved, and Most Profitable Airline”.
    • Provides research & impact analysis on important strategic topics including competitive strategy (including M&A and Partnership Relationships) and disruptive trends. 
    • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
    • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.




    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.


    • Bachelor’s Degree required  


    • Minimum 2 years of experience at a top tier consulting firm required
    • Airline experience preferred

    • Must have strong communication and influencing skills, capable of interacting directly with the executive leadership team
    • Must have strong ability ‘to think on their feet’
    • Must have experience in developing and delivering presentations

    Problem Solving & Analytics

    • Must have strong problem solving skills, including the ability to gather facts, conduct analysis, and translate data into meaningful insights
    • Must have experience with quantitative modeling tools
    • Must have strong comfort with ambiguity and imperfect information

    Strategic Thinking

    • Must have the ability to think across multiple time horizons, connecting the “big picture” and the “now”
    • Must have ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
    • Must have the ability to quickly learn new business areas and become an effective problem solver in that space

    • Must have the ability to assume a high level of responsibility and, at times, independence
    • Must have the ability to be a strong partner
    • Must have the ability to work and problem solve with cross-functional teams
    • Must have the ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information
    • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.


    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
