    Responsibilities

    DESCRIPTION:

     

    The Employee Care Intern supports the Employee Care Team by sending coorespondence and other gifts to Southwest Inflight Operations Employees.  Other job functions include assisting with event planning, inventory management, database maintenance, research and gift fullfillment.

     

    WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT

    • Respond to Employees who are out on a leave of absence (medical, maternity, OJI, military, etc) through gifts, letters and other coorespondance.
    • Maintain databases to record, monitor, and contact Employees who recently have had significant events occur in their lives
    • Maintain consistent updates on Employees' status
    • Write letters extending sympathy to bereaved Employees and family members; send flowers or other gifts as appropriate
    • Assist Manager with written correspondence and editing for Leaders
    • Assist with Event planning and organizing for Employee Care events and other special events
    • Send gifts, cards and/or letters as directed to Employees whose life events have been reported via ICC
    • Must have caring and compassionate personality
    • Perform research, reporting, special projects, and tasks as directed

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Progress towards degree in

      Communications, Business/Marketing, Hospitality, or Human Resources related degree.

    • Minimum junior level
    • To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).
    • Maintained 3.0 or above cumulative GPA 

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: 

    • Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills necessary to research and compile information as demanded by projects.
    • Must have the ability to effectively resolve escalating situations in the absence of Leaders.
    • Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and possess strong writing skills.
    • Must be able to interface well with people at all levels within the Company.
    • Must be able to approach any project with a creative and unique mindset.
    • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and situations simultaneously.
    • Must have a sense of urgency handling all internal and external Customer requests.
    • Must comprehend and deliver proactive Customer Service.
    • Must be comfortable with speaking opportunities with audiences of varying size.
    • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
    • Must demonstrate professionalism and have an extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information.
    • Must be detailed oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.
    • Must be able to maintain Department productivity and quality goals.
    • Must have the ability to prioritize work with frequent interruptions and work under time constraints to accomplish assignments.
    • Must have experience and proficiency using MS Office suite and be able to become proficient in various applications used
    • Some travel may be needed

    TIME COMMITMENT:

     

    Full-time - 40 hours per week

     

    PAY:

     

    $15.00 hourly + flight privileges

     

    This internship is located in Dallas, Texas at the Southwest Airlines Wings Building.
