    • Define Engine/APU Maintenance Program tasks and coordinate with Aircraft Programs to ensure requirements are properly located in SWA maintenance program structure.
    • Accomplish Maintenance Program bridging requirements for new or leased engines entering the SWA engine fleet.
    • Support Fleet Transactions group by managing powerplant programs related to acquisition or retirement of aircraft.
    • Support Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and Planning by developing fleet performance and forecasting models.
    • Define performance metrics as required to provide an accurate assessment of fleet safety, health, and reliability.
    • Administer and calculate fleet performance data to support management of maintenance actions required to keep SWA engines operating at desired levels. Communicate performance as appropriate to internal customers through reports, briefings, etc.
    • Based on operating performance, make recommendations for changes to fleet operation, configuration, or maintenance program.
    • Administer derate performance reports.
    • Manage significant specific Engine/APU projects such as thrust upgrades, reliability improvements, configuration changes that require a dedicated program manager.

    May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.




    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.


    • B.S. Engineering OR Airframe and Powerplant license required.  A degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. 


    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Airline or MRO Powerplant engineering, reliability, or maintenance programs required.
    • 2 years Leadership/Supervisory experience, preferred. 


    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must possess excellent analytical and project management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively use database applications and statistical analysis tools to collect data, perform analysis, and make recommendations necessary to achieve business goals.
    • Must be able to work effectively with fellow Employees as well as outside agencies and organizations.
    • Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously.
    • Demonstrate the ability to work within specific time frames in both supervised and unsupervised assignments.
    • Must work well under pressure, be detail oriented, meet deadlines and exhibit excellent organizational skills.
    • Thoroughly knowledgeable of the Southwest maintenance program or have relevant knowledge of maintenance programs in general through experience at another airline or in a similarly regulated, safety sensitive industry.
    • Capable of making effective oral and written presentations to peers, management, and executives
    • Knowledge of FAA requirements.
